YG | Next Session Graduation Oct 15th
YoungGents will be having its final session this month for the year. It will be a Graduation Session for our Young Men that worked so hard to be a part of YoungGents Mentoring Program. Thought the time we shared together being Transparent, Strength, and Encouragement, we have learned so much about each other and what we like to see happen for next year. We are excited about Next Year Mentoring Sessions and hope that we can see continues doing more within our community.

Young Gents Mentoring will be hosting our next mentoring session April 23, 2011. Topic of the month "Focusing on Money Management." Our vision is to have a better understanding of wealth and the principals behind money along with everyday finance fundamentals, entrepreneurial skills, and corporate knowledge. YoungGents Word of the Week.
 President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama will be launching a campaign about bullying on “Facebook” tomorrow, as a way to recognizing the growing issues across America of the problems of bullying. We see bullying done in different forms everyday in our schools and class rooms. What is being done about it? How can we as young men stop the dilemma? You can make the change and be the change toward making a better life for you and others. The first way is by: If anyone is bullying you, let someone know The second way is by: If someone bump into you, say excuse me, even if it was not your fault As young men we must remain activate, somewhat pro-activate towards our goals. Look within yourselves and see what your interests are and, the possibilities can lead you. I want you all to have more then what our parents has ever had or dreamed. Walk the path that many have walked ahead of you. There are people that want to help you and extend out a hand. Take it openly and honesty. Be you but also have fun! Stay out of trouble. YoungGents will be attending the YBM Leadership Conference
YBM Leadership Conference is our premier leadership development activity for young black men between the ages of 14 and 18 and is part of a yearlong leadership development and college preparation program. The conference will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Rocky River High School from 11:00 P.M. - 5:30 P.M.
Our theme this is year is Inspiring young leaders. We have put together a dynamic and exciting line up of speakers including the young millionaire Hezekiah Griggs who is the founder of HG3 Media and has been called "America's Youngest Media Mogul". The conference will also offer Parent University sessions for parents and guardians to help them raise successful young leaders.

 Dany Eason, Director Young Gents Mentoring Program 704.615.7102 Words of the Week: The words of the week are encouraging words that we send the young men each week to empower them to move forward toward their goals, and make wise choices concerning any negative peer pressures that they may face. By giving our young men powerful words of affirmation, will enable them to see life in a way that they can share and bring some form of peace to their lives. The words of the week are issued each Tuesday. Once we have a monthly session, we will ask the young men, how the Words of the week impacted their lives and why. We will share comments with the world and hope that it will bring some positive influences to another young man’s life. |

  For Immediate Release Young Gents Mentoring Program Developing and Empowering Manhood at Home, at Work and in Our Communities Charlotte, NC—February 14, 2011 —The YoungGents Mentoring Program will be hosting the next mentoring session Saturday February 26th from 10:30 to 12:00 to discuss “Black History” and “What Does that Mean to Me”, at the Harvey B Gantt Center. It’s very important to understand the value of a man and what Black History means to our young man of today. This is an exciting time for the young men, to view and Black Art from the past to present. There will be open registration to sign new young men to the group. We welcome all young males of ages 7-25 would like to open some doors for the men of today. YoungGents are looking for male volunteers to become our speakers of enlightenment and spark our minds to envision more. Young Gents is a newly formed peer to peer mentoring program whose main goals are to help younger men become themselves by recognizing and promoting wholeness and the role of all men. The organization provides an opportunity for male self-awareness, fellowship, support, joyfulness, play and enhancement of male roles as a friend, son, partner and citizen. The 2011 10-month program will run monthly on Saturday mornings with activities to include round table discussions, field trips, classes and workshops at Community Charter School located at 510 South Torrence Street. Young Gents has collaborated with W.E.A.L.T.H. (We Evolve Around Life Through Him) and M.A.L.E.S (Male Appointed Leaders Embracing Strength) to facilitate the monthly sessions.
