YoungGents Next Session: "Black History" & "What Does that Men to Me"

Developing and Empowering Manhood at Home, at Work and in Our Communities
   Charlotte, NC—February 14, 2011 —The YoungGents Mentoring Program will be hosting the next mentoring session Saturday February 26th from 10:30 to 12:00 to discuss “Black History” and “What Does that Mean to Me”, at the Harvey B Gantt Center. It’s very important to understand the value of a man and what Black History means to our young man of today. This is an exciting time for the young men, to view and Black Art from the past to present.  There will be open registration to sign new young men to the group. We welcome all young males of ages 7-25 would like to open some doors for the men of today.  YoungGents are looking for male volunteers to become our speakers of enlightenment and spark our minds to envision more.
   Young Gents is a newly formed peer to peer mentoring program whose main goals are to help younger men become themselves by recognizing and promoting wholeness and the role of all men. The organization provides an opportunity for male self-awareness, fellowship, support, joyfulness, play and enhancement of male roles as a friend, son, partner and citizen.  The 2011 10-month program will run monthly on Saturday mornings with activities to include round table discussions, field trips, classes and workshops at Community Charter School located at 510 South Torrence Street.
   Young Gents has collaborated with W.E.A.L.T.H. (We Evolve Around Life Through Him) and M.A.L.E.S (Male Appointed Leaders Embracing Strengthto facilitate the monthly sessions. Young Gents/ W.E.A.L.T.H./M.A.L.E.S are subsidiaries of Kingdom Development, Inc., 501(c) 3 nonprofit organizations that provide services to families, youth and individuals.
